"BARNABAS"
~2000 years ago a Levite Priest who was an early convert to the new Christian faith saw a need.
~ He sold a piece of property he had in order that the funds be given to feed the poor who had come to Jerusalem for the holiday called Pentecost.
~ Although his name by birth was Joseph, these early Christians saw his character and his manner of living. He was always encouraging, lifting up, exhorting, and trying to make a difference.
~ That's when these early Christians started calling him "BARNABAS" which is a Greek translation of the phrase "Son of Encouragement."
~ That's our history...being a Barnabas to those in need.
~ As our Teacher said, " It is more blessed to give than receive." (Jesus)
